Corsac Fox

Vulpes corsac

The Corsac Fox is spread throughout the central steppes of Asia. This very social fox forms hunting packs and “families”. They have no attachment to a particular place and often move back and forth, using caves they find on the way.

Like other foxes, this one is omnivorous, eating small animals, birds, reptiles, insects and plants.

The above picture was taken at the zoo of San Diego, California, in March 2004.
